Founded in October 2007 as a direct and immediate response to the new threat to Jerusalem, CCJ has become the leading political force in the United States opposing any negotiations of the status or borders of Jerusalem.

 
Many groups write letters or organize petitions.  Many groups hold rallies and mount protests. CCJ applauds and supports such efforts.  But with the peril so great, more is needed. Only CCJ unites and empowers those who love Israel, the Jewish people and the Holy City of Jerusalem by building broad consensus and adding the elite political strategy, expertise and access required – both in the United States and in Israel – to actually influence and shape policy.

 
And CCJ is having a major impact. Our work was even hailed by the Washington Post for innovation, ingenuity and effectiveness.

  • Creating and maintaining CCJ’s unprecedented consensus platform among disparate groups around the issue of the unity and security of Jerusalem.
  • Building a dedicated base of support within the Knesset (Israel’s parliament) and coordinating strategies in Israel and the US with major political players and organizations, including the office of the Mayor of Jerusalem.
  • Direct education of Members of Congress and key Administration officials through briefings and one-on-one meetings at the highest levels – including critical meetings at the White House immediately preceding both the Annapolis Conference and President Bush’s visit to Jerusalem.
  • CCJ’s historic Internet/phone campaign that reportedly shut down the State Department’s phone lines and overloaded their servers with US citizens calling to oppose any division of Jerusalem and any US pressure on Israel.

  • Maintenance of CCJ’s website – a critical source of information and updates.
